Optomechanical Design

Though our work focuses in optics, the mechanical assembly plays a crucial role in any optical system. Very specific practices must be understood which is why an optomechanical engineer is essential. All systems we design are modeled in 3D CAD software.

Opticology, Inc. specializes in the design & fabrication of critical precision optical and opto-mechanical assemblies.
Any precision optical system requires mounting. High precision is often required to keep the system aligned and perform within specifications. Opticology routinely designs the mechanics surrounding our optical systems with elegant solutions.
When building prototype systems it sometimes makes sense to use stock components when possible. The blend of a stock parts and custom mechanics makes for a reliable system that can be produced quickly and inexpensively.

For any of the custom optical components that we sell we can provide one of our stock, custom lens cell, or barrel facilitating conventional mounting.

For our OEM customers, we provide custom optics preassembled into the mechanical system built to their specifications, simplifying their final assembly process.

Our mechanical systems range from the simple to extremely complex, from large mounting systems, kinematic mounts, to micropositioners. We design and build systems thoroughly and efficiently and our customers are always provided with complete part and assembly drawings.
The fabrication of mechanical parts is just as important as the design, and our production of any part is always done with our designers working closely with the machinist.

In Addition to Optomechanical Design Services, Opticology Currently Supplies Optomechanical Parts And         Assemblies On An OEM Basis To Several Customers.
